Born in Manchester, Oliver moved to Australia in 2013. He lives with cerebral palsy. As well as commentating football and Australian football, he also commentates ice hockey at AIHL level for the Sydney Ice Dogs and the Thought Fox Media Group. Games are broadcast live on AIHL.TV.

Oliver has recently completed a Bachelor of Journalism degree at RMIT University, and was recently awarded the Mornington Peninsula Shire's Young Citizen of the Year for 2022.

He has previously worked as a journalist for both Kick360 and The Inner Sanctum.
